Sports are an integral part of anyone’s life, especially children's’. Everyone is prone it injuries while exercising or playing sports. Children, particularly are more prone to injuries than adults are. A person is at risk of getting injured when they have not been active for a long time, play contact sports, or do not do a proper warm up before exercising or playing sports.   • Achilles Tendon Rupture: Achilles tendon is a thin and powerful tendon at the back of the ankle. There is a chance for this tendon to rupture or break. When it does, the person may experience severe, sudden pain and difficulty in walking.
  • Fractures: Bone fractures are also called as broken bones.
  • Dislocations: Sports injuries may cause a bone in the body to dislocate. The bone is forced out of its socket when it happens. As a result, there will be severe pain and leads to swelling and weakness in the injured area.
  • Rotator Cuff Injury: The rotator cuff is formed of four pieces of muscle work together. The rotator cuff helps the shoulder move in all directions. A tear in any of these muscles weakens the rotator cuff.


One of the most common treatment is the RICE method. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Following the RICE treatment method within 24 to 36 hours of the injury gives the best results. The treatment helps in reducing pain, swelling, and bruising that form in the early days of the injury.

  • Severe pain and swelling
  • Joint making popping or crunching sounds upon using
  • Instability
  • Visible lumps, bumps, or other deformities
  • Weakness. Inability to put weight on the joint
  • Other symptoms include dizziness, fever, or difficulty in breathing right after the injury.
Prevention: The best way to prevent or avoid getting injured is to stretch and warm up properly before starting with the games or other exercises. Some of the prevention steps are:

  • Using a proper technique: Different types of exercise require a different kind of posture or method. It is essential to know how to do a particular activity so that the body does not face any pains.
  • Proper equipment: Make sure to have the right shoes and proper athletic gear. Bad condition of equipment can lead to injuries.
  • Stay in limit: No matter what sort of exercise or how easy it may be, overdoing it only leads to weakness. In case you get hurt, take some rest and get the necessary help instead of working through the pain which will only worsen.
